Tigger teaches me to use the scratch post.
CATS DO TEACH EACH OTHER: I LEARN TO USE A SCRATCH POST
by Inkee-Bear on Aug 3 2011 Add Comment

This morning I wake up, stretch and start pulling with my claws on the carpet.  Here comes Meowmuh commanding:  "No!"  She picks me up and carries me to a post. She rubs my front paws on it.  Whats up with that?  My older brother, Tigger, is sitting beside the post watching us.

Tigger says:  "Good grief; Meowmuh, I'll show him."  Tigger stands on his hind legs, reaches his front paws to the very top of the post, puts his claws out and, with alternating paws, starts ...

I am so sleepy.
SHIPPED 'PRIORITY PARCEL SERVICE' -- BUT THE PARCEL IS ME!!!
by Spirit on Feb 9 2013 Add Comment

It is early morning when I am put in my brand new tan carrier lined with a gold, leopard-spotted blanket.  Am I going back to the vet to get another shot?  No, no vet yet.  But I have been in this carrier all day....from Wichita, Kansas to Dallas, Texas and now to Los Angeles.  My carrier, now on a cart, lurches into a big room filled with wall to wall big boxes, crates and barking dogs...also in carriers. I guess they like it about as much as I do.  Finally, someone  picks up my carrier and we enter...

My first day writing in my new home. i don't know about you, but I always need my dictionary.
PAW-POUNDERS, CAT-TIONARIES AND THE OLE' BITE AND TEAR TECHNIQUE
by Sophee on Jun 7 2012 Add Comment

I am helping my new Meowmuh in her office.  She is on a cat-puter.  I prefer the paw-pounder or typewriter.  Know what?  We have one MAJOR thing in common, we both love to write.  Need to look up a word?  I use the cat-tionary.  Someday, I will be a real author.  Just like any writer, I love books and newpapers.  When I get a book or newspaper, I really sink my teeth in them....especially the corners. My 'fav", though, are paper sacks.  I really sink my teeth into them.  When I see...

I can do it. I can catch that car! Just watch me.
TV WATCHING & CAT-CHING
by Gracee on May 29 2011 Add Comment

My REAL challenge?  Cat-ching prey on this TV screen.  I might only be a kitten but I was born to hunt and cat-ch things...any thing!  It takes skill, stealth and a big dose of patience. My prey moves really fast but they aren't faster than me.  I get really close....well, how else are you going to cat-ch anything?!  Watch me, I'll cat-ch this one, I will, I will!

I can run and jump and turn as fast as any of those cars!  I am the Danica Patrick of the cat world!  Danica goes...

Ok, ok. So, it took me a few days to find my tree.
CRUISIN' N MY TREE
by Gracee on May 29 2011 Add Comment

I found the best spot yet...a cat tree.  If I squish myself really flat, no one can see me.  But if I sit up, I can see the whole downstairs.  Right around the corner is the food room, I know they call it a kat-chen...but to me, it's the food room.  If I hear anything from there, I jump down to investigate. Yesterday, I heard a noise. Meowmuh was opening the refrigerator door.  Was she getting food for me?  To see better, I jumped straight up from the floor into the refrigerator...onto the third shelf...

Now this is what I call soft.
THE LILAC PILLOW

Could I find a more comfortable spot?  I don't think so.  It is much softer than the mouse pad.  Know what's really cool?  All I have to do is turn my head and I can see everything in my backyard....birds, squirrels, a coyote or two and, when it gets dark, I can see possums creeping by and racoons bouncing around.  Meowmuh says we cannot go outside because the coyotes are looking for food....us!!!!  Yikes!  So, I am ok with staying indoors.  We have all kinds of things to do...some that I don't even know about yet.  Stay...

I am feeling so much better! What's next?
CONSTIPATION/OBSTIPATION ALL ON MY FIRST DAY IN MY NEW HOME
by Inkee-Bear on Aug 3 2011 Add Comment

My new Meowmuh is looking at me as I come running out to greet her.  She frowns and says that I am too thin.  And, I am thin in comparison to my brothers and sisters.  She takes me anyway.  I have never been in a carrier  before and I hate it.  I scream and yowl.  Laurell, my meowmuh's friend, takes me out of the carrier and cradles me in her arms.  I love being held so I can't help but purr loudly.  I give her slow blinks (kitty kisses).   I am finally home.  I squeal when they give me...

The mousepad on top of the notebook cat-puter is sooo soft!
MOUSE PAD ON LAPTOP: CONSUMER RATED BEST KITTEN-NAP SPOT:
by Gracee on May 10 2011 Add Comment

I have a new home with a new big brother, Tigger.  I don't think that he likes me.  But he will because I am cute and loveable. There are so many new things to investigate.  I have the run of the house...upstairs and downstairs.   I just ate from my very own kitten bowl. Every kitten knows that when your tummy is full, you have to take a nap.  Here you see me taking my very first nap in my new home.  I found the best nap spot...on the mouse pad on the top of the laptop computer....
